One person had to be rescued with a ladder as fire hit a home on North Goodman Street Tuesday night.
The Rochester Fire Department says they were called to 600 N. Goodman Street about 9:15 p.m. for a report of a fire in a single family home. They arrived to find heavy fire coming from the back of the house.
One occupant was seen climbing out a second story window and was rescued by firefighters from the porch roof. Everyone else made it out safely.
The fire was in a second floor bedroom and was quickly extinguished, but the home suffered fire, smoke and water damage. Nobody was hurt, and the Red Cross was assisting the occupants with alternate housing.
