Fire broke out at a chemical factory in Batavia early this morning. One firefighter was taken to the hospital but is expected to be OK.
Firefighters say the blaze was reported about 2:30 in the morning by an employee at Summit Lubricants on Pearl Street. It broke out in a silo that treats the air inside the building by running it through a charcoal filter. The charcoal somehow caught fire was was difficult to reach.
Summit makes industrial lubricants for other businesses and for the armed forces.
