A house in the Town of Canandaigua was destroyed by fire yesterday, sending a man to the hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.
The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office says Keith and Alura Rose returned to their home on Route 21 to find it engulfed in flames. They arrived just before the fire department, and Keith Rose suffered smoke inhalation trying to get inside to rescue the family’s dogs and cat.
Five area fire companies arrived moments after the Roses did and fought the fire, but the home was destroyed.
Rose was treated and released from the hospital. The family’s two dogs and a cat were killed in the fire.
