Rochester firefighters say an investigation is underway into a fire early Tuesday morning on Bay Street. The fire also heavily damaged a commercial building on nearby Bott Street.
The fire broke out about 2:30 in the morning and firefighters say flames were coming from the rear of the house when they arrived. A large outside storage area containing jet skis, tires and construction debris was on fire, and flames spread to the house and to the commercial building. Firefighters quickly made entry to both buildings and fought the flames from inside.
The house was damaged and is unliveable. Firefighters rescued three puppies and two adult dogs. Nobody was injured.
