A grease fire that spread to the kitchen and threatened the rest of the house brought Rochester firefighters to Diem Street Thursday evening.
The Fire Department says it arrive to find smoke coming from the up-and-down double house. Both occupants had fled the building. Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze before it spread to the rest of the apartment or the upstairs apartment. Two displaced occupants from the first floor were assisted by the Red Cross. The upstairs family was allowed to stay.
Nobody was injured.
