A number of homes in the area of Dewey Avenue and Rand Street lost power late last night when fire broke out in a garage and brought down the power lines.
The Rochester Fire Department says the garage at 274 Rand St. was fully involved when they arrived at about 9:30 p.m. The electrical lines at the rear of the garage burned through and fell, posing a hazard to firefighters until RG&E was able to get there and de-energize them.
Nobody was reported injured, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
