Rochester firefighters dealt with four overnight fires, starting just after 1:45 in the morning when a two-family house caught fire on Bernard Street. One adult in each side of the house made it out safely before the crews got there. The fire started on the first floor porch and was brought under control with no injuries to anyone. The cause is under investigation.

Just before 2:00 a.m. the fire trucks were out again at 16 Seabrook Street for a porch fire. Again, it was a two-family home. The fire was out by the time firefighters got there and nobody was hurt.

Next, at 2:05 a.m., came an alarm from 74 Rosemary Drive, again for a reported porch fire. This was a single-family home. Crews arrived, but again the fire had been put out before they got there. Nobody was hurt.

And finally, an alarm came at about 2:15 for a house fire on Finch Street near the corner of Glenwood Avenue. This one involve smoke and flames coming from the first floor of the residence, with three occupants trapped on the second floor. One adult made it out from the first floor as the fire spread.

A 14-year-old boy jumped from the front porch roof as firefighters arrived. A 52-year old woman and a 9-year-old girl were rescued by firefighters through a second floor window, to the porch roof, where they were brought down ladders. All three victims went to the hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.

This fire also appeared to start on the front porch and traveled up a stairwell to the second floor.

Fire investigators are working to discover the causes of all the fires.
