Gunfire broke out at a party in a rented building on West Main Street in Rochester on Saturday night, leaving one man dead and another critically injured.
Rochester police say they were called to the building at West Main and Reynolds Streets about 11:45 p.m. They found 26-year-old Steven Joiner of Rochester with a fatal gunshot wound to the upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Another man was rushed into surgery at Strong Memorial Hospital with severe injuries.
The Major Crimes Unit is investigating.
