A 26-year-old Hamlin man is dead after crashing a motorcycle on Drake Road in the Town of Clarkson late Wednesday night.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says they were called by a nearby homeowner who reported hearing a motorcycle and then a loud crash in the 1800 block of Drake Road. They located the motorcycle and its rider in some woods on the east side of the road. The rider was dead at the scene.
Investigators say the motorcycle was going north when the rider went into a ditch, hit a culvert, went airborne and crashed into the trees.
Deputies say speed was apparently a factor and no other vehicles were involved.
The rider’s name is not yet being released.
Drake Road has now reopened after the investigation.
