Gates police are investigating a fatal head-on crash on Pixley Road, just south of Hidden Valley Road on Thursday afternoon.
Police say a northbound car crossed into the oncoming lane and crashed into a second car. The driver of that first car died at the scene. The second driver was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Police are trying to sort out what went wrong.
