Fantasy sports gaming companies FanDuel and Draft Kings are back in business across New York State. They and three other companies have been issued temporary permits by the State Gaming Commission.
The two biggest fantasy sports companies had to pull the plug on New York customers for five months after Attorney General Eric Schneiderman said they violated New York’s constitutional ban against games of chance.
The state legislature passed a law proclaiming fantasy sports “games of skill” instead, and the governor signed it earlier this month.
FanDuel’s website says it’s already up and running again and thanks New York supporters for helping push the legislation.
