Family members of the limo driver killed along with 19 others in a weekend crash in upstate New York believe he didn’t know he was driving a defective vehicle.
A family spokesman read a statement from the the family of Scott Lisinicchia, saying his family thinks that he wasn’t aware the vehicle may have had problems and would never knowingly put people at risk.
ABC News says it’s gotten a hold of inspection records showing the stretch SUV failed inspection because of issues with its hydraulic brakes. Two of the company’s limos failed inspection last month, although company attorney Lee Kindlon said the issues were minor, including a faulty window latch and a bad windshield wiper.
Investigators say the limo was ordered to be taken out of service after failing inspection. It had been worked on since then.
