Irondequoit police are hoping a new facial reconstruction will help identify the remains of a young woman found in a back yard near Irondequoit Bay more than 30 years ago.
The body was found by children playing off Bay Knoll Drive in 1988. The young woman may have been dead as long as 30 years before that. She was probably between 15 and 19 years old, about five feet tall and had one front tooth slightly crossed over the other.
The 3D facial reconstruction was done by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. DNA from the remains has also been put into a national database.
