A transformer explosion in the former Gannett Building on Exchange Boulevard and Broad Street injured two electrical workers. Both were burned when the transformer exploded on Monday morning.
Both workers were burned, and were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital where they were in stable condition.
Fire Department Captain David Abdoch said the accident could have been much worse. The Gannett Building lost power, as did the adjacent Civic Center Parking Garage.
The cause is under investigation.
