A group of mailboxes in a downtown Rochester office building were damaged by an explosion about 7:00 Wednesday morning, causing police to respond with the Bomb Squad and evacuate several floors of the building at North Clinton Avenue and Pleasant Street.
The building houses Catholic Family Charities, although there’s no indication if there was an actual target to the blast. Police say an undetermined explosive was used at a cluster of mailboxes in the building’s hallway.
Nobody was hurt. Police, the Arson Task Force and the U.S. Postal Service are investigating.
