Expect appeals of the murder convictions for Colin and Laura Rideout.
Matthew Parinello represented Colin Rideout in the trial that ended yesterday. He answered “definitely” when asked if he’ll file an appeal on his behalf.
Parinello says he’ll base his appeal on the theory of severance. By that, he means the defense objection to all four defendants being tried together.
He says it inevitably caused him to act almost like a prosecutor, laying the blame on the other defendants to help his client. He says he would have represented Colin Rideout differently if he was being tried separately.
