There’s a change in plans for a Rochester woman charged in the death of her boyfriend’s daughter. She won’t go on trial next month.
Erica Bell was assigned a second attorney today, and is now set to have a pre-trial conference July 17. The new trial date will be set then.
Bell is charged with second-degree murder in the beating death of 3-year-old Brook Stagles last fall.
The dead girl’s father, Michael Stagles, is charged with criminally negligent homicide. He was released from jail on electronic monitoring yesterday while he awaits his trial in August.
