The George Eastman Museum has been awarded a near half-million dollar grant from New York’s Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation to continue ongoing restoration of the Eastman House mansion.
George Eastman’s home on East Avenue in Rochester is a National Historic Landmark and center of the Eastman Museum.
The grant comes via the Finger Lakes Regional Economic Development Council. Much of it will be used for an urgent window replacement job, upgrading 68 windows and shutters which were built into the mansion between 1903 and 1905.
