Somehow, nobody was hurt when a dump truck brought down a dozen power lines on Lehigh Station Road in Henrietta Monday morning.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says the truck’s dump bed was up as it drove near the front of Rush Henrietta High School and snagged the power lines. They came down, trapping the truck and according to Chief Deputy Mike Fowler, the drivers of two other vehicles.
RG&E crews cut the power so those people and the truck driver could be rescued. Authorities say 12 power poles came down and six are leaning so badly they need to be replaced. It will probably take until Tuesday night to get the road reopened. An earlier shelter in place order has now been lifted.
A truckload of new poles arrived Monday afternoon and crews began to install them Monday evening.
