Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce President Bob Duffy says Rochester area businesses are both concerned with when they can reopen, and with not reopening too early.
Duffy said in a press conference that business leaders don’t want to put their employees at risk for the coronavirus, even though they want to get back to work.
Duffy says it’s time to look at how we can save money, perhaps by doing business remotely as with remote learning. He says the Chamber of Commerce is looking at how it does business and how it can change following the coronavirus emergency.
Duffy has been meeting with business leaders and local government officials as he gathers information for Governor Cuomo to guide the Rochester-Finger Lakes Region’s reopening. He says Monroe County Executive Adam Bello has assured him the county has a lot of capacity for child care. That means business can restart even if schools don’t reopen until fall.
