The head of the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce says both political parties need to come together in a Upstate New York political caucus that will look out for the region in the state legislature.
Bob Duffy, who’s also the former Lieutenant Governor and Rochester Mayor, says it will address the deep economic divide between Upstate and Downstate New York when working on legislation. He lays out the vision in an op-ed piece in this week’s Rochester Business Journal.
The Unshackle Upstate coalition wants state lawmakers from across the Upstate region to focus on two or three key issues each year that will benefit all.
