Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce CEO Bob Duffy has issued an invitation for President Trump to visit Rochester and tour its businesses…after the president suggested people having trouble with the Upstate New York economy should move somewhere else.
In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, President Trump referred to what he called “upper New York State” and said “when you have an area that just isn’t working…you can leave, it’s OK, don’t worry about your house.”
That set off debate among New York officials who have been stressing New York’s regionally-driven economic development effort, and led Duffy to invite the president to come see for himself.
