A man who sold the drugs that killed a Gates woman earlier this year will serve two-to-four years in state prison after pleading guilty to criminally negligent homicide.
Dominic Hobbs was charged in May with selling heroin to 41-year-old Tara Miles, who was found dead in her home of an overdose. The family and police agreed to keep her death quiet until they completed an investigation of the dealer they believed sold her the drugs, arresting the 31-year-old Hobbs after setting up an undercover sting.
Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley says this is a triumph for families who have lost loved ones to opioid drug addiction.
