We’ve had some rain and lawns have greened up and started growing again, but the U.S. Drought Monitor says the entire Rochester region is still in drought conditions.
A band of “extreme drought” still exists south of the Thruway from Seneca County across the entire region through Erie County. The rest of the area is mainly in “severe drought” condition, with a few patches of “moderate” drought and “unusually dry.”
The Drought Monitor for the Northeast Region says much of the area got some beneficial rain, but not enough to dent the drought.
