New York State Police say a Southern Tier man who plowed his car into the back of a State Farm Insurance Help Truck on Route 590 yesterday is facing serious charges.
Troopers say 61-year-old David Young has been charged with DWI, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Hypodermic Needle, Assault and various other traffic violations. Young failed to obey the “Move Over” law and rear-ended the help truck while it was parked on the shoulder with it’s warning light’s on.
The driver was helping two people with their broken-down van. All three were hurt, but not seriously. Young was seriously injured but is in satisfactory condition today (Wed.)
Troopers say they’re continuing their investigation.
