The wife of a man killed in a crash on Lake Avenue in Rochester earlier this year has been indicted by a Monroe County grand jury.
Malachia Wallace-Johnson has been indicted on a charge of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in a fatality. She was behind the wheel when she failed to yield to a southbound car, and tried to turn left onto Phelps Avenue in the oncoming car’s path.
The crash critically injured her husband, 40-year-old Maurice Johnson, who had to be cut out of the wreck by firefighters. He died later at the hospital. Wallace-Johnson fled the scene and was arrested later by police.
