A Rochester psychiatrist who pleaded guilty to illegally distributing a controlled substance is facing up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
Federal prosecutors say Dr. Clifford Jacobson sold prescriptions for controlled substances like Xanax, to patients who had no medical need for it. Authorities say between 2014 and 2017, he sold the illegal prescription for 120 dollars each, until he got caught selling them to undercover agents.
He will be sentenced in January.
