Four people were shot and two of them were killed early Sunday morning in a shooting outside of an after-hours party on Driving Park Avenue.
Rochester police say it happened about 2:20 in the morning when they were called to a commercial building in the 200 block of Driving Park. They found a chaotic scene with up to a hundred people trying to flee the area. They found three shooting victims on scene, and a fourth, a woman in her 20s, arrived at Rochester General Hospital with multiple non-life threatening gunshot wounds.
In addition to that female victim, police found one man in his 30s dead at the scene. A second man died shortly after being brought to Strong Memorial Hospital. A third man is in critical condition at Strong.
Police say all four victims were standing in a crowd of people at a side entrance to the building where the unsanctioned party was taking place. The door opened onto an alley, and the shooter approached via that alley and opened fire on the group around the door.
Police say no witnesses have come forward and they don’t know the motive behind the shooting. The Major Crimes Unit is investigating and are especially looking for anyone with cellphone video to come forward.
These are Rochester’s 57th and 58th homicides of the year.
