The New York State Department of Transportation says it will make changes to an intersection in Chili where a crash killed an eight-year-old boy early this year.
After a traffic study, the DOT says it will put up “stop ahead” warning signs on Route 386 and Morgan Road. They also plan to cut down vegetation around the intersection so drivers have a clear line-of-sight. They’ll also add reflectors to the stop signs.
Kael Nicolosi was killed at that intersection on the way to school in February when another car ran the stop sign at that intersection and hit the family’s car. His mother and father want flashing red lights put up at the intersection. The DOT hasn’t commented on that yet.
