The New York State Department of Transportation is getting ready to tear up and resurface the south end of Mt. Read Boulevard in Rochester next year, and it’s hosting an open house next week for people interested in finding out what to expect.
The DOT will be at School 43 on Lyell Avenue from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. next Wednesday, June 14th. Staff will be on hand to talk informally with anyone interested.
The plan for 2018 is to upgrade and repave Mt. Read from Lyell Avenue to Buffalo Road. They plan to tear out the center median, provide two lanes each way and build a center turn lane for increased safety. Bike lanes will also be added on the shoulders.
