BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo Sabres have officially named Don Granato as the team’s new head coach, removing his interim tag. The team made the announcement on Tuesday afternoon.

Granato joined the Sabres organization as an assistant coach in 2019. He stepped in as head coach for 28 games this past season after the departure of Ralph Krueger.

Granato was one of a handful of names in the speculated discussion for the new Sabres head coach.
