Rochester police called to a reported domestic incident on Atkinson Street ended up seizing four weapons and filing charges against their owner.
Police surrounded the home and safely secured the victim, a 36-year-old city resident. A short time later, a man came out of the house and was detained. Police questioned him and determined firearms might be in the home. They located two revolvers, two semi-automatic handguns and a shotgun.
As a result, 65-year-old Harold Smith was charged with four counts of criminal possession of a weapon, plus harassment and menacing. He’s being held in the Monroe County Jail pending arraignment.
