A dog at risk of being euthanized is being sent instead to an animal sanctuary in Buffalo by decision of the Ogden Town Court.
A pit bull named Vanessa was to be euthanized after biting a woman on Contessa Court last July. A civil lawsuit filed by the victim says Vanessa and another dog became aggressive as she ran by, lunging at her from the other side of the road and biting her near the knee of her right leg.
Vanessa’s owner, Jeremy Wolf, and a group of supporters fought the euthanasia order. Monroe County Court vacated the order and sent the matter back to town court. The judge then decided on Wednesday that Vanessa will go to the Against All Oddz rescue shelter in Buffalo.
