tammy-jo-alexanderThirty-seven years ago today, the body of a runaway Florida teenager was found in a cornfield in Caledonia.

The girl now known to be 16-year-old Tammy Jo Alexander had been shot twice and dumped in Livingston County. She was finally identified last year and both the FBI and the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office continue to receive and investigate tips in the case.

The Sheriff’s Office says male DNA recovered from Tammy Jo’s clothing has been checked against three men who had known Alexander and were asked to provide samples. The FBI lab found none was a match.
