Some very graphic testimony was heard in court Thursday during the University of Rochester Kidnapping trial. One of two male students lured off campus in the belief they were going to a party took the stand. Nicholas Kollias described how they were held at gunpoint after being jumped and beaten by six-to-ten masked men.
They were threatened and tortured for nearly two days before a SWAT Team rescued them. One was shot twice in the leg, breaking his femur. They were also threatened with chainsaws and cut on various parts of their body.
Kollias testified that they were forced to call their banks and seek increases in their credit limits so their captors could empty their bank accounts. He said groups of people came and went, drinking and watching football on TV while this was going on.
The assailants shot video of the torture, which was shown to the jury.
Testimony shifted this afternoon to evidence from police technicians who described the evidence collected at the crime scene.
