Federal prosecutors have charged a 45-year-old Albion man with possession of child pornography after his smartphone was found in a trash can.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office says the people who found it in front of Christopher Ridder’s former residence in Medina charged the phone up and tried to find who the owner was. They stumbled over images of naked and partially clad boys and turned it over to Medina Police.
The FBI got involved and their investigation led to Ridder’s arrest.
