Now that Monroe County’s industrial development agency is about to have a full board once again, County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo has introduced some policy changes aimed at preventing another dispute like the ISquare debacle.
Dinolfo wants training for all new board members and annual training for all COMIDA board members, staff and county employees involved in economic development. She wants businesses receiving tax breaks of more than $1 million to produce a 20 percent increase in jobs…double the current number.
She wants term limits for board members, and to amend COMIDA bylaws so all matters to be considered shall be seen by board members no less than a week before board meetings…unless it’s an urgent matter. And Dinolfo wants all agreements between the agency and businesses receiving benefits to be posted online.
