State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli’s office has released another series of public audits, this time including the Rochester Career Mentoring Charter School.
It finds the school trustees haven’t set adequate procedures for contracting services, and don’t always seek competitive bids for goods and services.
Board of Trustees President Ken McCormick said in a letter back to the state that they’re pleased with the results of the audit and are adopting a multi-bid vendor process.
The school has a little more than 200 students and is run by an eight-member board of trustees independent from the Rochester City School Board. The budget is close to $3.5 million a year.
