Rochester Developer David Flaum has died of cardiac arrest. He was 68.
Flaum was a major developer and property manager in Rochester, known for a high level of civic involvement. He served on the board of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington and on the board of WXXI Public Broadcasting. He was also a board member of the University of Rochester and of Syracuse University.
He and his wife endowed the David and Ilene Flaum Eye Care Institute at the University of Rochester.
Flaum was the son of Holocaust survivors.
His company, Flaum Management, developed retail shopping centers, office buildings, call centers, high technology facilities, commercial and farmland throughout the United States.
