A drug deal turned violent in Hilton Saturday night, leading to robbery and assault charges against one man, and an investigation that may lead to charges against the others who were involved.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to a home on Bennett Road in Hilton for a reported robbery. They found the incident had actually occurred at a residence on Parkwood Lane.
They spoke with three men who said they drove to Parkwood Lane to sell marijuana to Lakwan Hannah. He got into the back seat of their van, got his marijuana, but then hit one of the men over the head with a hammer. A fight started in which another of the men was hit with the hammer. A friend of Hannah’s then ran up with a hatchet and threw it through the van’s passenger side window.
The three men then drove to the Bennett Road address and called 911. The two injured men were treated at Unity Hospital in Greece and deputies arrested Lakwan Hannah. He’s being held on $25,000 bail.
