The Monroe County Legislature’s Democratic Caucus leader went before the COMIDA board today with a list of proposed reforms.
Cindy Kaleh says the Democrats’ plan is stronger than the ethics reforms proposed by County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo. She told the board it will prevent another I-Square scandal.
The Democrats want an anti-revolving door strategy for the county’s industrial development agency. They say county employees should be blocked from working for companies they worked with as public officials for two years after leaving county service. They say no COMIDA board member should have business contracts with any part of the county, and they would enact a law prohibiting disclosure of proprietary business information.
That’s what caused the I-Square mess.
