A judge has dismissed a lawsuit brought by nine Democratic Party members of the Monroe County Legislature, demanding that Yversha Roman be recognized as the Democratic leader instead of Legislator Vince Felder (photo).
The suit aimed to force Republican Legislature President Joe Carbone to recognize Roman as the minority leader over Felder, which he refused to do.
Felder says he’s relieved that he retains the title, but other Democrats say the leadership battle isn’t over.
The Democratic legislature caucus released a statement saying “Carbone cannot read plain English, as the rules of the legislature clearly state in Section 545-37 “leaders shall serve at the pleasure of their respective Caucuses.”
