Everyone looking to see results from Monroe County’s election lacked one thing Tuesday night: results. There was a breakdown at the Monroe County Board of Elections, not in counting the votes, but in the system that presents them for public viewing over the BOE web page.

The board said in a statement early Wednesday morning that it had no problem collecting and tabulating after the polls closed at 9:00 p.m. But the numbers refused to upload into the public reporting system on the county website, including the early voting numbers received through Saturday.

The board says it got everything posted by 2:45 a.m. and most of the results were known by midnight.

The cause of what the board calls a “connectivity issue” is under investigation, and the BOE says it will share the findings in the interest of transparency.
