The del Lago Resort and Casino says it will open to the public on February 1st, 2017. The first of the new state-chartered casinos to open, del Lago has been under construction for more than a year at a cost of some $440 million.
Officials are hoping for a surge in visitors to Seneca County and the Town of Tyre where the casino and its 205 room hotel are being developed right off the Thruway. The hotel, banquet center and pool facilities are scheduled to be complete in the summer. Two-thousand slot machines and 85 gaming tables will be ready to go from the start.
Promoters say it will generate $90 million a year in economic activity.
