The four defense lawyers in the Craig Rideout case have concluded their closing arguments.
Colin and Alexander Rideout are charged with murdering their father and with and evidence tampering, along with their mother, Laura Rideout, and her boyfriend Paul Tucci. The prosecution hopes it’s convinced the jury that all four collaborated in murdering her estranged husband and trying to conceal the evidence. The prosecution is delivering its closing arguments this afternoon.
Laura Rideout’s lawyer says the items she and Tucci bought at Walmart that the prosecution says were used to clean up after the murder are also consistent with a couple of people packing up house and moving. She and her boyfriend were packing up their house and moving to North Carolina at the time Rideout was beaten to death in his Penfield town home. He also argued that Laura Rideout wouldn’t have the strength to strangle and beat her husband to death.
