A deer crashed through the windshield of a couple’s car in Ontario County on Sunday, sending the driver to the hospital with minor injuries but leaving the couple’s children uninjured.
The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office says 24-year-old Courtney Landschoot of Stanley was driving her family on Route 17 in Gorham when five deer ran across the road in front of her. One jumped into the air and was hit by her car, partially coming through the windshield before being thrown clear.
Landschoot suffered cuts and scrapes. Her husband was in the passenger seat and was unhurt, as were the couple’s two children in the back seat.
