The woman who acted as a straw buyer for William Spengler, providing the firearms he used in his 2012 ambush of West Webster firemen, has been moved from prison to a halfway house.

Dawn Nguyen is now being housed at a residential reentry center in Pittsburgh, and she’s scheduled to be released from there in June. Nguyen was sentenced in 2014 to eight years in federal prison.

The weapons she bought for Spengler were used to kill his sister, and firefighters Mike Chiapperini and Tomasz Kacowka. Two others were seriously injured. Spengler then committed suicide as police moved in.
