Irondequoit Supervisor Dave Seeley, who already announced that he’s not seeking re-election this year, has announced that he’s stepping down as of July 31.
Seeley says on the town’s web page that he informed the town board of his decision Tuesday night. He says he’s taken a new job that will allow him to further his passion of serving the community, but will not let him serve as supervisor until the end of the year as he had planned.
Deputy Supervisor John Perticone will take over as supervisor per state law. Seeley says he plans to work over the next several weeks to ensure a smooth transition. He says he’s forever grateful to the people of Irondequoit for giving him the chance to serve.
