The case of Lawrence Dash has been waived to a Monroe County grand jury.
Dash is the man charged with attempted assault and being questioned as a person of interest in the fire. Investigators say the sudden fire broke out at 30 Hertel Street about an hour after Dash tried to stab Katherine Rogers during a domestic fight.
The fire forced Rogers and five other people to escape by jumping out the windows. But 34-year-old mother Champagne Singleton was killed when she ran upstairs to reach her children.
So far, nobody has been charged with causing the fire.
