The Town of Greece has signed a 25-year-operating agreement with the Daniele Family to manage and upgrade the Braddock Bay Marina.
Now that the Army Corps of Engineers is dredging out the bay and restoring the barrier beach to keep it from silting in again, the town is hoping boaters will return. The marina once was home to some 300 boats. Now there are fewer than 20 and the docks and facilities have fallen into disrepair.
The Danieles, who manage the Southpoint Marina in Penfield, have pledged to make $1 and a half million of improvements to the Braddock Bay Marina. That includes new docks and fueling facilities, renovated buildings and a restaurant.
They hope to have it ready by boating season next year.
